Quality Assurance
From its inception Maharishi Ayurveda Products (MAP) has been endeavouring to set the highest standards of quality, consistency, effectiveness and delivery. We use state-of-the-art manufacturing plants that are certified by independent international agencies. Maharishi Ayurveda Product’s certification includes:
The International Standard Organisation Certification ISO9001:2000 that ensures that Maharishi Ayurveda Products employs a system that meets the stringent requirements for consistency and quality in the design, production, and export of herbal products.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical control Points) Certification. This is a system that identifies the “critical control points” of the production process and certifies that these points are monitored so that products are free of health hazards.
WHO-GMP (World Health Organisation Good Manufacturing Practice) standards ensure that manufacturing process is conducted in accord to the necessary standards. The independent inspectors certify that Maharishi Ayurveda Products are “fault-free, safe and have consistent quality.”
ISO/IEC 17025:1999 is a Laboratory Management System that covers testing and calibration activities for physico-chemical, heavy metal, organo-chlorine pesticide and microbiological testing.
MAP has selected the best geographical sources for its ingredients and checks the consistency of its finished products using GC and HPLC chromatographs and in this process has established a substantial library of chromatographic data.
Maharishi Ayurveda Products in UK has a programme of retesting the products we import from MAP in India. The standards that we apply to these products are set out below.
The above standards apply to all products manufactured by Maharishi Ayurveda Products Limited, India. Maharishi Technology Corporation , the manufacturer of several cosmetic and personal care products in Netherlands have very similar stardards to MAP-UK and we do not retest their products. For the main products we do regular tests for microbiology, heavy elements, and organochlorine pesticides or aflatoxins. Small batches are tested only for heavy elements and microbiology. Very small batches are tested for heavy elements.
